HBO’s “Harry Potter” New Photo, More Cast

HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series has landed a new photo, showing off the show’s young leading star Dominic McLaughlin in full costume as Harry Potter.

The photo marks the commencement of production on the series, with additional names announced to have joined the cast.

The new names include Rory Wilmot who will play Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson who will play Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey who will play Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser who will play Garrick Ollivander.

They joined the packed cast which includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that the series will debut sometime in 2027 and will be the start of a ‘decade-long’ project to adapt one book per season.

The show is being written by Emmy-winning producer Francesca Gardiner and executive produced by Gardiner, Mark Mylod, Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.
