Jake Gyllenhaal is set to star in and produce “Collision,” a Don Winslow-penned short story from the author’s upcoming anthology collection “The Final Score” at Amazon.
The “Road House” and “Donnie Darko” actor plays a devoted husband and father sent to prison after a terrible mistake. There he must learn to survive the brutal culture inside.
Once he gets out, the man learns why he was protected in prison and is sent on a life-changing mission. Josh McLaughlin and Shane Salerno also produce the project.
This marks the second Winslow adaptation in the works at Amazon, following the upcoming Bart Layton-directed “Crime 101” starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, Nick Nolte, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The title story within “The Final Score” collection will be up for bidding after this coming Friday’s holiday, while Sony currently has an Austin Butler-led adaptation of Winslow’s “City On Fire” in the works.
Gyllenhall has multiple projects on the way including M. Night Shyamalan‘s “Remain,” Guy Ritchie’s “In The Grey” and “Road House 2,” and Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s “The Bride”.
