Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette (“Barry,” “Parker’s Anchor,” “The Girl Next Door”) has joined the cast of the fourth season of Amazon Prime’s “Reacher”.
Rodriguez-Marquette will play small-town policeman Jacob Merrick, a major character for the season which is based on the Lee Child book “Gone Tomorrow”.
He replaces the originally cast Jay Baruchel who has been forced to exit the series to attend to a personal matter. Baruchel’s casting was only announced two weeks ago.
The replacement was quick, Rodriguez-Marquette was reportedly hired the same day the breakdown for the role went out, and was flown out to set within a few days. Production got underway on the new season early last week.
In the new season, a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a train goes horribly wrong and Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is drawn into a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power.
Other new season cast members include Sydelle Noel (“GLOW”) as Tamara Green; Agnez Mo (“Jelita”) as Lila Hoth; Anggun (“Levitating”) as Amisha Hoth; Kevin Weisman (“Alias”) as Russell Plum; Marc Blucas (“Narcos: Mexico”) as John Sansom; Kevin Corrigan (“Poker Face”) as Detective Docherty; and Kathleen Robertson (“The Expanse”) as Elsbeth Sansom.
The recent third season, which debuted in February, quickly became the most watched returning series ever for Prime Video.
