Andrew Garfield, Monica Barbaro (“A Complete Unknown”) and Yura Borisov (“Anora”) are in early talks to star in filmmaker Luca Guadagnino’s potential next film “Artificial” at Amazon MGM Studios.
Guadagnino was originally next set to helm “Sgt. Rock” at DC Studios this Summer until that project got pushed back a full year. As a result he’s moving fast to lock in his next film to shoot later this year before coming back around to “Sgt. Rock” in 2026.
The story reportedly revolves around the period at the artificial intelligence company OpenAI in 2023 that saw CEO Sam Altman fired and rehired in a matter of days.
Simon Rich wrote the script and will produce alongside David Heyman, Jeffrey Clifford and possibly Jennifer Fox.
Guadagnino recently directed “After the Hunt” for Amazon MGM, that film stars Garfield, Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebiri with the movie to open in cinemas October 10th.
Amazon released his film “Challengers” theatrically last year.
