“Revenge of the Sith” 20th Anniversary Poster

Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm has premiered the official poster art and revealed an April 25th release date for its upcoming 20th anniversary re-release of George Lucas’ “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”. Celebrated online artist Matt Ferguson designed the artwork.

The movie earned $868.4 million worldwide during release, making it the second most popular film of the prequel trilogy behind only “Star WarsL Episode I – The Phantom Menace”.

In celebration of the anniversary, the film will be heading back to theaters for one week only in U.S. theaters and select international territories starting on April 25th. In addition, during its limited run, the film will also be shown in 4DX for the first time.

Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Oz, Jimmy Smits, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Oliver Ford Davies, Temuera Morrison, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker star in the film which was the best reviewed of the prequels.

The poster art comes as “Star Wars” is back in the news again following Monday night’s report of Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy potentially stepping down from her role at the end of the year. A source for CNN has dismissed that report, saying: “There’s nothing there right now” and any retirement announcement will be made public when “actual decisions are made”.
