Back in May this year, Disney made headlines when it started pulling content from its Disney+ and Hulu direct-to-consumer streaming platforms.
At the time, nearly sixty titles were removed from the services spanning multiple series and films in what was seen as a cost-cutting measure for an industry seriously rethinking costs and strategy in regards to streaming.
There were some high-profile titles too including Kenneth Branagh’s $125 million budget “Artemis Fowl” film adaptation, the Joey King-led action film “The Princess,” teen sci-fi tales “Crater” and “Stargirl,” period romance-comedy “Rosaline” and more.
Now, The Wrap reports that some of those titles have abruptly reappeared as VOD releases on major platforms including Apple, Amazon, VUDU and more. Disney didn’t publicise their return, the titles just startd showing up on these services at the very end of last month.
The removed titles now available include: “Artemis Fowl,” “Better Nate Than Never,” “Crater,” “Cheaper by the Dozen,” “Flora & Ulysses,” “Stargirl,” “Hollywood Stargirl,” “The One and Only Ivan,” “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made” and “Wolfgang”.
Other titles like “Black Beauty,” “Magic Camp” and “Darby and the Dead” have yet to appear, and none of the Disney+ original series removed have resurfaced as yet.
