Peacock has announced a December 8th premiere date for Tony Shalhoub’s final performance as Detective Adrian Monk in “Mr. Monk‘s Last Case: A Monk Movie”.

The project marks the first new installment of the series in twelve years with executive producers Andy Breckman, David Hoberman and Randy Zisk saying in a joint statement the film will reflect the changing world.
Original series stars Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Gray-Stanford, Melora Hardin and Hector Elizondo all return, and are joined by new to “Monk” cast mates Caitlin McGee and James Purefoy.
Series creator Breckman wrote the film which is directed by Zisk. Shalhoub, Breckman, Zisk and Hoberman all executive produce.
The original show ran for eight seasons and pulled in multople Emmys over the course of its run, with Shalhoub winning best actor in a comedy series three times.
