The little-promoted and long-delayed Jackie Chan and John Cena-led action comedy feature “Hidden Strike” has topped Netflix charts.

Scoring a woeful 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film still became the most popular film on Netflix last week (July 24th-30th) despite only going up on the service on Friday 28th and thus being only available for three days in that week-long window.

In the three days, it pulled in nearly 22 million views and 38 million hours viewed, along with topping the list in at least 50 different countries.

The next nearest films were the kids movie “Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie” with 12 million views and “They Cloned Tyrone” with 11.1 million.

Set in the near future during an oil war, the Hong Kong action movie legend and American pro-wrestler turned actor play two ex-special forces soldiers.

The two are paired together for a special mission escorting a group of civilians along Baghdad’s “Highway of Death” to the safety of the Green Zone.

Pilou Asbæk stars as the film’s villain, whilst “Need For Speed” filmmaker Scott Waugh directs. The film was shot in China back in 2018 and has undergone several name changes over the years (“Snafu,” “Project X-Traction”).

Cena and Chan are together again on screen in the just released “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” film, where they voice the iconic characters of rhino thug Rocksteady and rat mentor Splinter respectively.
