John Wick Prequel “Continental” Sets Date

Peacock

Peacock has officially set the launch plans for its “John Wick” prequel series which will consist of three feature-length parts. At one time, this was thought to be a three-night event with the episodes to air over one week.

That plan has been scrapped. Instead, the first episode will premiere on the streamer September 22nd followed by the second a week later on September 29th and the final episode a week after that on October 6th.

The release plans were revealed as part of a San Diego Comic-Con panel for the title, with exclusive in-room footage also shown. Executive producer/director Albert Hughes, executive producer Marshall Persinger and members of the creative team were also on hand.

Colin Woodell stars as a young Winston Scott, the hotel manager at The Continental. The series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of Winston as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.

Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne. Also starring are Ayomide Adegun as a young Charon, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie, Mel Gibson as Cormac, Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD and Nhung Kate as Yen.

Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons co-created the series. Coolidge and Ward serve as writers and showrunners. Albert Hughes directs the first and third episodes and Charlotte Brandstrom directs the second.
