Marvel Studios has released a new featurette for their upcoming Marvel and Disney+ series “Secret Invasion” ahead of the show’s premiere on June 21st.
The clip comes as Oscar winner Olivia Colman opened up about her role in the show, making her MCU debut as an MI6 agent named Sonya Falsworth – a character who is both ally and adversary to Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury as both have different methods in handling the fight against rogue Skrulls.
Colman tells Empire she’s a little disappointed she didn’t get superpowers: “I kept asking if I could be bitten by something or fall into a vat of something. They were having none of it.”
Jackson, meanwhile, was downright excited to get to act opposite Colman, whom he’s been a big fan of for a while:
“I thought, ‘How lucky can I be to know that today is finally going to be the day I get to act with Olivia Colman?. The next thing you know, we were having the most fun you could ever have, sitting there pretending to be these two people that have had a long relationship seeing each other again for the first time in years.”
Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Dermot Mulrone, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, and Carmen Ejogo also star, whilst returnees include Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, and Don Cheadle as Rhodes.
