The first trailer has been released for “Greatest Days,” the film adaptation of iconic British boy band Take That’s stage musical “The Band”.
The story follows five best friends who have the night of their lives seeing their favorite boy band in concert. Twenty-five years later, their lives have changed in many different ways as they reunite for one more epic show by their beloved band to relight their friendship.
Much like “Mamma Mia,” it’s essentially a film version of a jukebox stage musical centered around one band’s songs spread across an original story and characters. Notable Take That hits are weaved into the narrative including “Never Forget,” “Back for Good,” “Pray,” and “Could it Be Magic”.
Aisling Bea (“The Way Up”), Alice Lowe (“Black Mirror”), Jayde Adams (“The Outlaws”) and Amaka Okafor (“The Responder”) star in the film which will be getting a UK and Ireland release on June 16th.
Band members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald are executive producers on the film which is directed by Coky Giedroyc and penned by Tim Firth. Danny Perkins, Kate Solomon, Jane Hooks, Karl Spoerri and Viviana Vezzani produce.
The band itself will be one of the acts set for King Charles’ coronation concert next month and will also perform at a London premiere for the film on June 15th.
