Gustin Talks “The Flash” Movie Rumors

The CW

The CW’s Grant Gustin-led “The Flash” series is coming to a close after nine seasons with the DC Comics adaptation to end on May 24th – just a few weeks before the Ezra Miller-led “The Flash” film hits cinemas.

Miller made a cameo on “The Flash” series during the 2020 Crisis on Infinite Earths event in The CW, a scene which saw both Barry Allen’s meeting on screen. Recently there’s been rumors that we could see that reciprocated in some way with Gustin having a cameo in “The Flash” film.

Speaking with TV Line, Gustin answered a pretty definitive “No.” when asked if his version of Barry Allen would appear in the DC film.

Before you think he’s trying to hide something, he explains his denial:

“There’s been a lot of rumors out there for a long time and no one’s come out directly and asked me, ever, on the record. You know, people ask me on the street all the time and, yeah, I’m not keeping some big elaborate secret.”

Gustin adds: “As a Flash fan myself, now, I’m just excited to see what they do with it.” It’s telling that “The Flash” film with Miller was first announced the same week that “The Flash” series premiered in October 2014. It’s now nearly a decade later, just as the show’s is coming to an end, that the film is coming out.

Gustin adds seeing “Keaton back in the [bat]suit and how they incorporate it” is what he’s most curious to see about the new film. The final five episodes of “The Flash” will return to The CW on April 26th, whilst “The Flash” movie opens in theaters on June 16th.
