Apple has handed out a second-season renewal order for the comedy series “The Big Door Prize” starring Chris O’Dowd.
The speedy renewal comes just over a week after the show premiered its first three episodes on March 29th. The remaining seven are debuting Wednesdays through until later June.
Based on the 2020 novel by M.O. Walsh, O’Dowd plays a friendly high school teacher and family man who is happy until the mysterious Morpho machine appears in his town’s general store.
Said machine offers the ability to tell a person’s life potential, and it makes O’Dowd’s character question if he is truly fulfilled. Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Djouliet Amara, and Sammy Fourlas co-star.
The comedy has scored rave reviews with critics, pulling in a 93% score from critics and a 92% from audiences. In a statement, creator David West Read says:
