CBS is set to give “NCIS: Los Angeles” a proper sendoff with the planned series finale to air on May 14th now being expanded to a two-parter with the second part to air on May 21st marking the true season finale.
On top of that, CBS will present an “Entertainment Tonight” one-hour wrap-up special titled “A Salute To NCIS: Los Angeles” which takes a trip back through the history of the series. That special will air following the final episode.
Kevin Frazier will host the wrap-up special which will contain exclusive content along with old and current cast members being interviewed about their time on the series and favorite moments.
The two-part finale will be titled “New Beginnings” and will see the ATF request help from the elite NCIS when an agent goes missing. They’re tasked with finding the agent along with stolen military-grade weaponry.
The episode will tie up various story threads for the characters as Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna (Bar Paly) finalize their wedding plans, Roundtree’s (Caleb Castille) sister will interview to get into medical school, and Sam (LL Cool J) will push his father to participate in a drug trial.
The show has run for fourteen seasons and 322 episodes. It remains the top-rated scripted program in its Sunday 10pm time slot with 6.08 million viewers on average per episode.
