Rocksteady’s “Suicide Squad” Delayed Again

Rocksteady Games

Warner Brothers has reportedly delayed Rocksteady’s “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” game from May 26th until the second half of 2023 according to Bloomberg.

Though not directly linked, the decision comes in the wake of the flood of negative response to a recent gameplay showcase of the online co-op action shooter. That presentation showed it to be more of a live service title than expected and with an always-online requirement – even in single-player mode.

As it’s only a short delay though it likely won’t be an overhaul of the core gameplay, rather just polishing what’s already there. The game already saw a delay last year from 2022 to Spring 2023 before this new one.

Dubbed a genre-bending action-adventure shooter set in an open-world Metropolis, the title sees Brainiac having taken over the world and Amanda Waller has recruited the Suicide Squad to help her save it from corrupted superheroes.

The narrative reportedly takes place in the same world as Rocksteady’s ‘Arkham’ games and marks the final performance of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman.

Rocksteady says they plan to keep updating the game, adding new weapons, playable characters, and a cosmetic-only battle pass, too. “Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League” arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime later this year.
