Sony Pictures has premiered the official trailer for the R-rated new Jennifer Lawrence-led comedy “No Hard Feelings” Lawrence stars as Maddie, a down-on-her-luck Uber driver who loses her vehicle.
In a turn of desperation, she responds to an ad placed by a couple looking for someone to date their shy 19-year-old son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) in an effort to get him to come out of his shell before he heads to Princeton in the Fall.
Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Scott MacArthur and Ebon Moss-Bachrach co-star while Gene Stupnitsky (“Good Boys,” “Bad Teacher”) directs from a script he co-wrote with John Phillips. The film hits cinemas on June 23rd.
Next comes the full trailer for Benjamin Millepied’s “Carmen,” a new film adaptation of the famed opera by Georges Bizet and starring recent breakout stars Paul Mescal (“Aftersun”) and Melissa Barrera (“Scream”).
This loose, modernized adaptation of the 19th century opera will follow Carmen (Barrera) as she travels from Mexico to Los Angeles looking for freedom. Mescal plays romantic lead Aidan. Sony Pictures Classics will open the film in New York and Los Angeles on April 21st.
Then there’s a trailer for “Free Solo” directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhely and Jimmy Chin’s new National Geographic documentary feature “Wild Life” about the decades-long project on wilderness conservation by Kristine and Doug Tompkins who created the biggest private land handover in history.
The film begins its roadshow tour of US theaters on April 14th in New York City and Washington D.C. then heads to select cities until May 5th and premieres on the National Geographic Channel on May 25th followed by a Disney+ launch the next day.
