New Images & Details From “Scream VI”

Ahead of the launch of tomorrow’s new trailer for “Scream VI,” a series of images from the film have been released to generate excitement for the film opening on March 10th.

The photos show off a first look at Hayden Panettiere reprising her “Scream IV” role along with new looks at returnees like Melissa Barrera (Sam), Jenna Ortega (Tara), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy), Mason Gooding (Chad) and Courteney Cox (Gail Weathers)

There’s also a first look at Dermot Mulroney’s appearance in the film, which co-stars Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny.

Speaking with EW, Barrera says the new film takes place relatively after the last one and so they’re still dealing with the baggage from last year’s “Scream”:

“Not a lot of time has passed since the last movie. Pretty much, the amount of time that we’ve had between one movie and the other is the amount of time that has passed in their world. So the trauma is still very fresh. One of my favorite parts about this movie is that we really get to see how the happenings of the last movie affected them. We get to really see the baggage that they’re carrying now and how each of them is dealing with it differently.”

That includes Panettiere’s Kirby, who was left twitching in a pool of her own blood at the end of “Scream 4”. Panettiere says:

She’s come a long way. What happened to her has obviously impacted her life, and it sends her in a certain direction, but she’s still the same old Kirby at the heart of it. She’s just a little older, a little wiser, but just as spitfire-y, and snarky, and all that good stuff.”

Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to helm the film, which opens exclusively in cinemas on March 10th.
