MW2 Tops U.S. Best-Selling Games of 2022 List

Activision

The NPD Group has revealed the list of 2022’s best-selling video games in the United States, and unsurprisingly, Activision’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” came in at Number One.

The title has topped monthly sales charts in October, November and December and has been out long enough to pull ahead of Bandai Namco’s “Elden Ring”, which came in second, whilst “Madden NFL 23” was third.

Santa Monica Studios and Sony PlayStation’s “God of War Ragnarök” came in fourth, making it the biggest console exclusive of the year, whilst “Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga” took fifth place.

Rounding out the top ten were Nintendo exclusives “Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet” and “Pokemon Legends Arceus” in sixth and eighth, “FIFA 23” in seventh, “Horizon Forbidden West” in ninth and “MLB The Show 22” in tenth.

NPD’s data includes physical and digital sales in most cases, though digital sales data isn’t included for either Nintendo games or the Xbox and Switch versions of “MLB The Show 22”.
