FOX has premiered the trailer for their crime anthology series “Accused,” a remake of the British series of the same name and hailing from the producers of “24” and “Homeland”.
Jimmy McGovern’s original series sees each episode opens in a courtroom on the accused without knowing their crime or how they ended up on trial, with the dram told from the defendant’s point of view.
Here, viewers discover “how an ordinary person got caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back”.
The stacked cast of this U.S. version includes Wendell Pierce (“The Wire”), Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”) and Margo Martindale (“The Americans”), Abigail Breslin (“Stillwater”), Molly Parker (“House of Cards”), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (“The Resident”), Oakes Fegley (“The Fabelmans”), Rachel Bilson (The O.C.), Jason Ritter (“Parenthood”), Betsy Brandt (“Breaking Bad”), and Rhea Perlman (“Cheers”).
Chiklis, Billy Porter, Marlee Matlin and Tazbah Chavez are among the directors of the fifteen-episode season, which premieres on January 22nd on the network alongside the return of the “Fantasy Island” reboot and new series “Alert”. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
