The BBC has renewed “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight’s new wartime drama series “SAS: Rogue Heroes” for a second season.
The first season followed David Stirling (Connor Swindells), Jock Lewes (Alfie Allen) and Paddy Mayne (Jack O’Connell) in a dramatized account of how the SAS was formed in the darkest days of WW2.
Dominic West, Sofia Boutella, Tom Glynn-Carney and Theo Barklem-Biggs co-starred. The second season will see Paddy take over the SAS following a dramatic turn of events, and the group must push into mainland Europe as they test the limits of their endurance.
The series launch in the UK became one of the BBC’s top five drama launches of the year, with 3.8 million viewers tuning in at the time and almost 10 million watched it within the first four weeks.
That puts it ahead of all UK launches for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ series this year. The series airs in the U.S. on Epix.
