Seven Join Amazon’s “Rings of Power” S2

Gabriel Akuwudike (“Hanna”), Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour (“The Witcher”), Ben Daniels (“The Crown”), Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle (“Persuasion”), and Nicholas Woodeson (“Rome”) have all scored recurring roles in the second season of Amazon Prime’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series.

Character details for the new additions are being kept under wraps. In addition, Joseph Mawle is bowing out as playing the orc leader Adar in the second season. Sam Hazeldine (“Slow Horses”) will now step into that role for the new run.

According to Amazon, the first season is the top Amazon Original series for Prime Video in every region and has been viewed by over 100 million people worldwide.

The second season of the epic fantasy saga is currently in production in the U.K. and will continue to tell more Second Age stories. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay serve as executive producers and showrunners.
