The 18-24 demographic are returning to cinemas in a big way, according to a recent Fandango survey of 1,000 participants.
The survey found James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” as being the biggest release that Gen-Z plans to see before the end of the year with “Strange World,” “Babylon,” “Violent Night” and “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” following after.
The study also found the following results:
96% identified moviegoing as a favorite way to spend time outside of their home
94% say moviegoing is a top-three recreational activity, only topped by streaming TV shows and social media screen time.
94% make moviegoing decisions based on an interesting trailer.
94% were happy with their cinema visits over the past year
91% are more likely to go to the theater for a film that demands to be seen on a big screen, with big sound and a receptive audience.
87% say there is no way the moviegoing experience can be recreated at home.
78% claimed they are seeing more movies in cinemas now than they did before the pandemic.
Just over two-thirds are looking forward to seeing more films this season in premium large formats like IMAX and Dolby Cinema/
