Marvel’s What If…
Cate Blanchett will reprise her “Thor: Ragnarok” role of Thor’s villainous half-sister Hela, at least her voice, for the second season of Marvel’s animated series “What If…”. The new run is slated for an early 2023 release with show director Bryan Andrews revealing the casting news at a LightBox Expo panel. [Source: Laughing Place]

Netflix
Netflix’s new lower-cost ad-free version of its streaming service reportedly doesn’t work with Apple TV or Apple TV 4K devices. A Netflix rep confirms the “Basic with ads plan support on tvOS is not available at launch but coming soon.” No explanation is available as to why. [Source: 9to5Mac]

The Answers
FX has handed out a pilot order for an adaptation of Catherine Lacey’s novel “The Answers” with Kit Steinkellner (“Sorry for Your Loss”) set to write the script and executive produce alongside Danny Strong and Darren Aronofsky.

The story is set in the near future and follows a heartbroken young woman who joins an enigmatic experiment that promises to hack love. But after moving into an idyllic, secluded location with her fellow female participants, she and the other women start questioning what’s really happening in the experiment. [Source: THR]

Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Ali Ahn (“Little Demon”) and Maria Dizzia (“The Good Nurse”) have joined the upcoming “WandaVision” spin-off “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” at Marvel Studios and the Disney+ service.

The two join series lead Kathryn Hahn as well as Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, and Emma Caulfield Ford. Plot specifics for the upcoming spin-off are under wraps. Jac Schaefer serves as head writer and executive producer. [Source: Variety]

The Narrow Road to the Deep North
“Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi has signed on to star in the WW2 limited series “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” which hails from writer Shaun Grant and director Justin Kurzel and is based on Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize-winning novel.

Elordi will play Dorrigo Evans, an Australian army surgeon whose brief love affair with Amy, his uncle’s young wife, sustains and haunts him through his darkest days as the reluctant leader of men held prisoner in a Thai-Burmese camp during World War II. [Source: THR]
