“La La Land” director Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon,” a homage to Hollywood’s silent era and captures “humanity at its most glamorous and animalistic,” reportedly clocks in with a jumbo-sized 188-minute runtime.
The film hasn’t screened yet for critics or audiences as yet but Paramount Pictures has already revealed the awards submission categories it is going up for on its FYC site.
A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, the film traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in 1920s Hollywood as the industry undergoes a treacherous transition between silent and ‘talkie’ films.
Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva lead a packed cast that includes Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, Jean Smart and Tobey Maguire star.
The film is set to premiere with a wide theatrical release on December 23rd.
