Amazon Prime has ordered an animated series based on 2016’s raunchy animated comedy “Sausage Party”. The eight-episode “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” will launch in 2024.
Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton will reprise their voices from the first film, whilst Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester will join them.
The original followed the lives of food items that occupy the shelves at the local supermarket, including Frank the sausage, Brenda the hot dog bun, Teresa Taco, and Sammy Bagel Jr. among others.
The series is currently in production and it’s unknown if this will serve as a prequel or sequel. In a statement, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg say: “It’s got all the heart, double the puns, and triple the food-on-food sex. In other words, it’s exactly what the world needs right now.”
