“Batwoman” leading actress Javicia Leslie is returning to the Arrowverse reports CanadaGraphs (via The Direct).
Leslie has joined the ninth and final season of “The Flash,” playing the villain Red Death with her character recently being photographed on set engaged in a fight with Grant Gustin’s The Flash.
In the comics, the character is an alternate version of Bruce Wayne who, traumatized by the death of his various Robins, harnessed the Speed Force to upgrade his way of crimefighting and then ultimately absorbing the powers of The Flash of his Earth.
Here it’s expected to be a version of Ryan Wilder from a different Earth, and is reportedly the first indication that the Multiverse is back in play following its apparent collapse in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event.
This will mark the live-action debut of Red Death who was name-dropped in a past season. Cobalt Blue will serve as the main villain of the final season, though others are coming back such as Captain Boomerang.
The CW will air the final season of “The Flash” in 2023.
