Lionsgate

“John Wick” filmmaker Chad Stahelski will direct and “Foundation” writer/producer Dana Jackson will write a Netflix film adaptation of Marc Olden’s Black Samurai novels.

Olden’s eight 1970s blaxploitation books follow Robert Sand, an American soldier in Japan who learns the ways of the most powerful martial arts and becomes the Black Samurai.

The books are globe-trotting thrillers with power-mad millionaires, black-market warheads, voodoo priests, a solid gold katana and a high body count.

Stahelski will also produce along with John Schoenfelder, Russell Ackerman, Jason Spitz, Alex Young, Diane Crafford, Liza Fleissig and Andre Gaines.

Stahelski is currently in post-production on “John Wick 4” which will release March 24th 2023.
