Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson have scored the lead roles in “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the prequel series currently in the works at HBO Max and Legendary Television.
The show is set 10,000 years prior to the events of “Dune” and follows the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
Watson will play Valya Harkonnen and Henderson will play Tula Harkonnen, sisters who have risen to power in the secret organisation that will become the Bene Gesserit. The series is based on the novel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
Diane Ademu-John is the creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer with Alison Schapker serving as co-showrunner and executive producer. Johan Renck will direct the premiere episode and executive produce.
