Amazon Prime Video has announced that filming on the second season of “Reacher,” based on the best-selling novels by Lee Child, is set to begin later this month ahead of a potential late 2023 airing.
The series, which premiered in February, was renewed for a second season just three days after its premiere on the streaming service.
The show ranked among the steaming platform’s top five most-watched series ever in the U.S. and globally and one of the most-binged original series ever on Prime Video
The second season will be based on the eleventh book in the series “Bad Luck and Trouble” in which Reacher investigates the deaths of his friends from his old military unit.
Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley and Rory Cochrane are joining the cast in regular roles, with Domenick Lombardozzi set to join as guest star. They join returnees Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher and Maria Sten as Frances Neagley. Shaun Sipos has already been cast as David O’Donnell.
Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, Josh Blacker, and Al Sapienza are also onboard the new run with Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora returning as series writer and executive producer.
