SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced five upcoming releases and a core change to its famed “Yakuza” game franchise and its “Judgement” spin-offs.
First up, the entire “Yakuza” series is being rebranded to adopt the franchise’s original Japanese name – “Like a Dragon”. In addition a remaster of “Like a Dragon: Ishin”, a formerly Japan-exclusive entry in the “Yakuza” series, is on the way.
Next up, PC ports of former Playstation exclusive titles “Judgment” and its sequel “Lost Judgment” aren’t just coming to PC – they’re already here with the titles having just hit Steam today. Both can be purchased separately or in a bundle.
Then there’s two new games coming in the “Like a Dragon” series. First there’s the smaller “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name”. It is said to be a traditional action-driven following series star Kiryu and takes place after the events of “Yakuza 6”. It will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC formats in 2023.
The bigger one is “Like a Dragon 8,” the next full game in the series and sees Ichiban and Kiryu teaming up for a turn-based RPG. It is coming in early 2024.
