Gore Verbinski’s new Netflix animated feature “Cattywumpus” is reportedly being ditched by the streamer and is set to be shopped around town to other studios.
The project marks Verbinski’s second animated movie after the Oscar-winning western “Rango” which grossed $246 million at the worldwide box office.
Netflix has seen big changeovers in its animation department this Summer, including nearly half of its 150 job cuts in May coming from that department.
Nevertheless, the streamer has multiple animated projects on the way, including Henry Selick’s “Wendell & Wild,” Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio,” and the sequel “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget”.
