Though there are only six weeks until the film is scheduled to be released, filmmaker David Gordon Green has revealed he hasn’t quite locked down the ending of “Halloween Ends” just yet.

Speaking to Empire recently, Green discussed how far along the film is in the post-production process where he revealed that because this serves as both a capper of his trilogy, of Blumhouse’s involvement and Jamie Lee Curtis’ final outing as Laurie Strode.

As a result, he’s still tweaking those final moments to make sure it’s just right as there’s plenty of pressure to do so:

“It changes every day. In theory, the picture is locked, but this morning I called the editor and said, ‘What if we do this one thing…’

I speak with John [Carpenter] and Jamie Lee Curtis regularly about it. It’s exciting, uncertain, satisfying, and sad. I’ve enjoyed the ride, but it’s probably time to get off. I think we’re gonna go out with a bang.”

Asked to compare it to the previous two films, he says: “If our second film was free-for-all, violent chaos, this is a more intimate, atmospheric conclusion.”

“Halloween Ends” will debut both in cinemas and on Peacock on October 14th.
