Filmmaker Jordan Peele may not be done with the world of “Nope” just yet.
As part of a new interview with The New York Times which arrives as the film hits digital platforms, the writer-director was asked about one character dubbed ‘Nobody’ featured throughout the film’s marketing but didn’t appear in the final film – a role played by actor Michael Busch.
Peele responds with an answer that would suggest he’s open to revisting the “Nope” world be it with an alternate cut, a sequel or something else:
“People are doing a lot of interesting detective work, is what’s going on… The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.”
Though the Nobody character only briefly appears in moments in the trailers, journalist Kyle Buchanan has posted a claim about who the character is – SPOILERS AHEAD:
“The Michael Busch “Nobody” character was a pretty major deleted subplot – he was a whole POV character. Obsessed with “Gordy’s Home” (and the actress on it) and heads to a taping with his gun. And then, stumbling upon the scene, ends up shooting the chimp.”
Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, and Brandon Perea star in the film which is now available both in the cinema and on digital platforms.
