Former Warner Bros. Pictures executive and veteran producer Dan Lin is reportedly one of the names in the mix for the top spot at DC Films and the potential DC equivalent of Kevin Feige.
Lin is a franchise producer of films like “IT,” “Sherlock Holmes” and the “LEGO” franchise, and a protege of Alan Horn. Other names are also being discussed however, and no offers are out.
According to Variety, several hurdles stand in the way of any deal moving forward with Lin – the biggest being his production company, Rideback, which has ties to several other studios. Should he run DC, he would likely have to sever those ties.
Back in 2008, Lin almost had the job of “overseeing the entire DC franchise” as he was working with director George Miller on his ultimately scrapped “Justice League” project at the time.
