Starz’s planned “Outlander” prequel is officially going forward and has scored the title “Outlander: Blood of My Blood”.
The story will focus on the love story between Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, the parents of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
Matthew B. Roberts is attached to write, showrun and executive produce the prequel with a writers’ room already assembled earlier this year. Ronald D. Moore also executive produces.
Author Diana Gabaldon will serve as a consulting producer on the series. The main “Outlander” series premiered its sixth season back in March, with a double-length seventh season already in the works.
