Crunchyroll Orders Trigun Remake
Toho, Crunchyroll

Sony Pictures’ specialty streamer Crunchyroll has acquired Toho’s remake of the 1998 anime series “Trigun” which is based on the cult manga by Yasuhiro Nightow.

The Trigun saga follows the story of Vash the Stampede, a legendary gunman and a pacifist with a bounty on his head.

The new series is titled “Trigun Stampede” and will be produced by Tokyo-based studio Orange with an all-new team of animators and voice cast.

Whilst Adult Swim and later Sony’s Funimation broadcast the original series, Crunchyroll will simulcast the new series from Japan in more than 200 countries and territories around the world in 2023.

Further plans will be unveiled at Anime Expo 2022 in Los Angeles in early July with Yasuhiro Nightow himself along with producers set to be on hand at a panel to discuss the project.
