Marvel Studios is reportedly in early development of a live-action TV series based on their character “Wonder Man”.
In the comics, Simon Williams (aka. Wonder Man) is a founding member of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Avengers and became a celebrity thanks to his day job as an actor and stuntman. The character also developed strong ties to characters Vision and Wanda/Scarlet Witch.
“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” director Destin Daniel Cretton is teaming with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Community” writer-producer Andrew Guest on the project.
Guest will serve as head writer of the series, while Cretton will executive produce and possibly direct an episode or more. Filming could begin as early as next year.
Cretton is continuing to develop a sequel to “Shang-Chi” and will direct and executive produce a series adaptation of “American Born Chinese” for the Disney+ service.
