“Tokyo Vice” Scores Season 2 Renewal

Tokyo Vice Scores Season 2 Renewal
HBO Max

HBO Max has handed out a second-season renewal order for Michael Mann-produced “Tokyo Vice” series.

Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe star in the series which was based on journalist Jake Adelstein’s first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat.

The show launched its eight-episode season over a three week period in April and landed some very good reviews. It has, however, not been without controversy surrounding both its leading man Elgort and doubts about the veracity of its source material.

HBO Max head of originals Sarah Aubrey says in a statement: “We could not be more excited to bring the passionate fans of the show another season to continue this intriguing and suspenseful crime story set in one of the most vibrant and beautiful cities in the world.”
