“Ted Lasso” actor and writer Brett Goldstein, who plays the swearing machine that is Roy Kent on the series, says the currently in production third season of the comedy is being designed as its last.
Speaking with The Sunday Times, Goldstein confirms the series was planned to be three seasons and the show is being written as though the currently in production third run will be the last: “We are writing it like that. It was planned as three. Spoiler alert – everyone dies”.
Series co-creator and lead actor Jason Sudeikis previously told EW that he envisioned the third season as the last, even though its obvious Apple would love for them to continue.
The show has won seven Prime time Emmys and two Golden Globes, along with being nominated for dozens of awards throughout its first two seasons. The third season is expected to air later this year.
