The Owen Wilson-led family secret superhero comedy “Secret Headquarters” is ditching its planned August 5th theatrical release and will instead premiere directly on the Paramount+ service that same month.
The film won’t just be out in North America either as the debut will also take place in select international territories where the streaming service is available.
The story begins when schoolkid Charlie and his friends discover the headquarters of the world’s most powerful superhero hidden beneath his home. When villains attack, they must team up to defend the headquarters and save the world.
Jerry Bruckheimer produces the film which stars Walker Scobell, Jesse Williams, Keith L. Williams, Momona Tamada, Abby James Witherspoon and Michael Pena. Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman direct from a script they co-wrote with Christopher Yost and Josh Koenigsberg.
The film will premiere just one week after another young adult comedy feature “Honor Society,” starring Angourie Rice and “Stranger Things” alum Gaten Matarazzo, debuts on the service on July 29th.
