Paramount Pictures used its CinemaCon presentation this morning to reveal the titles of two of its upcoming major franchise entries.
First up, Christopher McQuarrie’s seventh “Mission: Impossible” film has landed on a title – “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1”.
An early trailer for the film was screened to attendees, but as the movie is still fifteen months away from release on July 14th 2023 it’s not clear if we’ll get to see it online sometime.
That’s not all though as the upcoming “A Quiet Place” spin-off has also landed a title – “A Quiet Place: Day One”. The prequel is expected to deal with the events of the aliens’ arrival on Earth as seen in the early flashback scenes of the sequel.
Michael Sarnoski is attached to direct the film which will come before a proper third entry in the main franchise.
Paramount also used the CinemaCon presentation to show off a sizzle reel of footage from “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” both arriving next year, and Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon” opening at Christmas.
