Ironheart
Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes have been hired to helm three episodes each on the Ryan Coogler-produced six-episode “Ironheart” series at Marvel Studios and the Disney+ service.
Dominique Thorne plays Riri Williams, a brilliant teenage inventor who (in the comics) builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm. Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross also star while Chinaka Hodge serves as head writer. [Source: THR]
The Ledger
HBO Max has begun development of the half-hour action series “The Ledger” starring “Cobra Kai” breakout and upcoming “Blue Beetle” star Xolo Mariduena.
He plays a young man who sets out into the world to right the wrongs of the deadly man who trained him, using only the ledger kept by his mentor. Juan Carlos Coto (“9-1-1”) is attached to write and executive produce the series. [Source: Variety]
Based on a True Story
Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to the comedic thriller “Based on a True Story” from executive producers Craig Rosenberg (“Preacher”) and Jason Bateman (“Ozark”).
The series is about a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow-close toilet seat. [Source: Deadline]
Moonhaven
AMC+ has set a June 30th premiere date for its sci-fi suspense thriller series “Moonhaven” which hails from creator/showrunner Peter Ocko (“Black Sails,” “Lodge 49”).
Dominic Monaghan, Joe Manganiello, Emma McDonald, Amara Karan, Ayelet Zurer, Kadeem Hardison and Yazzmin Newell star in the six-episode series which unfolds on a utopian colony on the moon that may hold the keys to preserving life on an increasingly perilous Earth.
