Will Ferrell has closed a deal to join the Warner Bros. Pictures film based on Mattel’s iconic “Barbie” toyline which stars Margot Robbie as the famed doll.
Ferrell is said to be playing the CEO of a toy company that may or not be Mattel in the film which reportedly has a meta aspect to the proceedings.
Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach wrote the script for the project which also stars Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey and America Ferrera.
Gerwig directs the film with production already underway. Robbie, Robbie Brenner, David Heyman and Tom Ackerley are producing.
