Four high profile arthouse titles have scored U.S. release and premiere dates.

First up, Shudder has scored the rights to famed animator, VFX guru and filmmaker Phil Tippett’s critically acclaimed experimental animated feature “Mad God”. Three decades in the making, the film will hit limited theaters and debut on Shudder on June 16th.

In “Mad God,” a corroded diving bell descends amidst a ruined city, with an Assassin emerging from it to explore a labyrinth of bizarre landscapes inhabited by freakish denizens.

Next, Hulu has set a May 20th premiere date for Richard Wong’s new film “The Valet” starring Samara Weaving, “CODA” actor Eugenio Derbez, Max Greenfield, Betsy Brandt and Amaury Nolasco.

Weaving plays an in-demand actress engaging in an affair with a married man who is caught on camera by the paparazzi. She enlists the help of the only other person in the photo – an unsuspecting and kindly valet – to pretend to be her boyfriend. [Source: Hulu]

Then, NEON has set “Girlhood” and “Portrait of A Lady On Fire” filmmaker Celine Sciamma’s new film “Petite Maman” for an April 22nd limited theatrical release.

The story follows an eight-year-old girl who accompanies her parents to her mother’s childhood home to begin the difficult process of cleaning out her late grandmother’s belongings. As she explores the house and nearby woods, she is immediately drawn to a neighbor her own age building a treehouse.

Finally, Sony Pictures Classics has shifted its Mark Rylance-led sports comedy/drama “The Phantom of the Open” to a platform release with plans to first open in New York and Los Angeles on June 3rd ahead of a wider release in the weeks following.

Based on real events, the movie tells the story of Maurice Flitcroft (Rylance), an elderly man who decides to take up golf competitions without ever having played the sport.
