Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan have both signed on to star in and produce a follow-up to the Smith-led 2007 blockbuster “I Am Legend” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Akiva Goldsman, who adapted the famed Richard Matheson-penned 1954 novel, is also returning to write and produce.
The 2007 film is set years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, with a sole immune survivor (Smith) in New York City.
Francis Lawrence helmed the original, which grossed $585 million worldwide, but no director is attached to the new one at this time.
Plot specifications are under wraps. Elizabeth Raposo, Greg Lessans and Jon Mone will also produce.
