After breaking out last year with scene-stealing turns in Netflix’s “Fear Street” trilogy, “The Woman in the Window,” and HBO’s “The White Lotus,” actor Fred Hechinger has now joined the cast of the “Kraven the Hunter” film for Marvel and Sony Pictures.

Sources indicate Hechinger will play Chameleon, the half-brother of Kraven (Aaron Taylor Johnson) in the feature which J.C. Chandor is directing from a script by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk.

Kraven is a famed Spider-Man villain and Russian big-game hunter character in Marvel lore and the film is said to feature his family members as major characters (Russell Crowe is also onboard). Chameleon is a master of disguise able to impersonate anybody.

Hechinger is currently starring in Hulu’s “Pam and Tommy” and filming Scott Cooper and Christian Bale’s new film “The Pale Blue Eye”. He’ll soon star alongside Nic Cage in the western “Butchers Crossing”.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing. “Kraven the Hunter” will be released theatrically on January 13th 2023.
