“Dexter: New Blood,” Showtime’s revival of its famed Michael C. Hall-led serial killer drama “Dexter,” has been a smash hit for the premium cabler.
Sunday night’s season finale reportedly pulled in three million total viewers, with two million coming in via streaming and on-demand platforms on that day alone according to a press release. That makes it the biggest finale for a Showtime series since the end of the third season of “Homeland” back in 2013.
In addition, the overall ‘New Blood’ run of the show has scored an average of over eight million weekly viewers across all platforms, becoming the most-watched series in the history of the network.
That wasn’t the only hit on Sunday night. HBO says its second season premiere of “Euphoria” starring Zendaya drew 2.4 million viewers across all its platforms Sunday night.
That’s the strongest digital premiere performance of any HBO episode on HBO Max since the streaming service’s launch and nine times higher than the first season’s premiere in June 2019 via HBO Go and HBO Now.
