MGM Closing In On Momoa & Bautista Film

Mgm Closing In On Momoa Bautista Film
Apple TV+

MGM is reportedly close to winning an auction for a previously reported on a “Lethal Weapon”-esque buddy action-comedy that will star Jason Momoa with Dave Bautista as brothers.

Both actors reportedly pitched the project this week with Jonathan Tropper, who worked with the pair on the Apple TV+ series “See,” writing the script from an original idea all three came up with.

The studio will develop the project and all three reportedly have major deals that kick in when the film goes into production. Shooting will likely take place in Hawaii in 2023 after Momoa wraps “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and Bautista finishes “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” and “Dune: Part Two”.

Both actors also recently appeared in “Dune: Part One” but shared no scenes together. No director is currently attached to the buddy action-comedy, but Jeff Fierson is producing.
