Regina Hall (“Girls Trip,” “Scary Movie”) has been set to star in a sequel to iconic 1988 action-comedy “Midnight Run” which starred Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin.
Aeysha Carr (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) is writing the screenplay but plot details are unknown and no one else has been announced in the cast as yet.
De Niro starred in the original as a bounty hunter who pursues a former mob accountant (Charles Grodin) after he skips bail. De Niro will produce the new version, but it’s unclear if he’ll reprise his role.
Hall will also produce alongside Jesse Collins and Jane Rosenthal for Universal Pictures.
