“Super Troopers” and “Club Dread” comedy troupe Broken Lizard has officially begun filming their next feature “Quasi” at Searchlight Pictures.
A satirical take on Victor Hugo’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” the story follows the hunchback Quasimodo who wants love, and finds himself in the middle of a feud between the Pope and the King of France, both of whom demand he kill the other.
Kevin Heffernan will direct and star in the project which he wrote with Steve Lemme, Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Adrianne Palicki will co-star and filming just kicked off in Los Angeles.
“Quasi” will debut exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and on Disney+ everywhere else.
